The Manhattan Island

This island, a personal project, was designed for the purpose of expanding our counter space in our sometimes tight Manhattan apartment. Made of reclaimed solid white oak, white oak ply, and Pacifica terrazzo by San Diego-based Concrete Collaborative. Miters are used to wrap the main body of the island and hide two storage drawers. We narrowed it down to the LEM Piston Stool to serve as a discreet stool that can be stored within the narrow space beneath the countertop so that movement is not disrupted in the room.
